While on our latest Club Avalanche Meet with the Local So Cal chapter we bought a Puppy!!
My wonderful wife decided to stray away from the group and go explore the pet shop in the same shopping center where we had all met for dinner. She comes out and tells me that I just HAVE to go in and look at one thing... the "Purple Dog" puppy they had inside. We have talked about getting a Weimaraner for years, and there where so many coincidence starting with him being there it was obviously fate.
So, inside we go. He was so beautiful (Jonathan + Avy = severe puppy love!) and since his birthday was coming up, we obviously struck a deal and walked out with a new Weimaraner puppy. He was born November 13th, 2004 - just a week after Heather's birthday. Although he is supposed to be a "purple dog" he is actually Pewter (Silver-Grey) just like our truck and we found him while at a Truck Club meet with our Avalanche, we call him Avy. His registered name is "Jonathan's Avalanche". As it turns out, we couldn't have picked a more appropriate name. We will try to get video of him barreling down the stairs!
So, we will add more about Avy as time goes on, with lots of pictures of the unofficial So. Cal. mascot !

Jonathan's Avalanche (ACA Registered Name) is now ready to Sire. If you are interested in using our Avalanche for a Sire, Stud Service can be negotiated. Lineage or ACA Registered Dames only please. We would also be interested in a Stud for pup exchange. Pup from different Sire only. Pup must be ACA Registered or have Health Cert. and Lineage. Please contact me for more information.
UPDATE 8-17-04:
Avy now weighs around 75 lbs. at 9 months old. He eats like a horse, sleeps all day, then constantly nips at Tulsi all evening. He's a riot. His barking has taken on a decidedly houndy quality.. awoooo woooo wooo. Very funny - he sure doesn't sound like anything else in the neighborhood. Both of us are just very excited for the day he can flush quail and chase bunnies on Quartz Mountain (fingers crossed folks!)
UPDATE:
In doing some more research about Avy, and Weimaraners in general, we realized that it actually wasn't Jonathan's fault that Avy is so spoiled. Please read the following:Weimaraner House Rules -
The dog is not allowed in the house.
Okay, the dog is allowed in the house but only in certain areas.
The dog is allowed in all rooms, but has to stay off the furniture.
The dog can get on the old furniture.
Okay, the dog is allowed on all the furniture, but is not allowed to sleep on the bed with the humans.
Okay, the dog is allowed on the bed, but only by invitation.
The dog can sleep on the bed whenever he wants, but not under the covers.
The dog can sleep under the covers by invitation by the humans only.
FINE, the dog can sleep under the covers every night.
ALRIGHT, the humans must ask for permission to sleep under the covers with the dog.
